The icon is composed of a crucified Christ, with a dove representative of The Holy Spirit ascending to Heaven watched over by an image of God Almighty. In each quadrant is a representation of one of the variations of images of The Virgin. [clockwise from top left “Virgin of the Melting Hearts”, “Virgin of Soothe My Sorrows”, “Virgin of The Fallen” and “Virgin of Vladimir”.
Written on a slightly bowed board with a shallow kovcheg and two battens inserted in the top and bottom sides.
